Global Custodian is delighted to announce the shortlist for its 30th Anniversary Industry Leaders Awards in New York on 7 November at Pier 61, Chelsea Piers.

The awards will celebrate the very best performers from the year across fund administration, prime brokerage, custody, market infrastructure and technology innovation.

Following the results of Global Custodian’s market-leading surveys conducted throughout the year, candidates for the fund administration and prime brokerage awards were selected based on the number of responses, unweighted scores for category excellence, as well as client comments.

Leading the way in terms of nominations in the prime brokerage awards categories are BNP Paribas with five, Morgan Stanley with four and Cowen with three.

Seven prime brokerage awards are up for grabs in total, recognising the stand-out providers for capital introductions, client service, financing, operations, trading and execution, and stock lending and borrowing.

Within the fund administration categories, including hedge fund, mutual fund and private equity fund administration, both Apex Group and SS&C GlobeOp lead the way with eight nominations each, while Citco is nominated in six categories.

Firms nominated this year that did not feature in last year’s survey awards shortlist include ABN Amro, Cantor Fitzgerald, HSBC and Opus Fund Services.

Global Custodian will also award the coveted provider of the year in each category which will be based on their overall client feedback score.

Later in the evening we will also recognise the most innovative product developments across custody and fund services, along with a range of editors’ choice awards.

Battling it out for Global Custodian of the Year will be BNP Paribas, Citi and Northern Trust, with the latter the only repeat candidate from last year’s shortlist for this category.

Our One to Watch honour for fund administration will be awarded to one of three rapidly-emerging players in Intertrust, PEF Services and Vistra, while the Technology Provider award shortlist consists of Arcesium, CME Group’s ENSO and Viteos (now owned by Intertrust).

Meanwhile, Project of the Year will come down to three front-office initiatives from BNY Mellon, SS&C and State Street.

Finally, we will be handing out the prestigious Lifetime Achievement and Industry Legend awards to individuals. Previous winners of the award include SS&C Technologies CEO and founder Bill Stone, former CEO of State Street Jay Hooley, and BBH partner, Susan Livingston.

We will also crown our North American Industry Person of the Year on the night through a live vote which will be decided by those in the room.
