The Botswana International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) nurtures the plan to create Commodities and Derivatives Exchange in 2009.

Together with the Ministry of Finance and the Non- Banking Financial Institutions Regulator (NFFIR) Botswana IFSC plans to launch a Pan African Commodities and Derivatives Exchange in the market during the course of 2009.

The main goal of new exchange is to nourish Botswanas economic empowerment, infrastructure development, tax revenues and capital markets as well as to create employment.
