Investment Company Institute (ICI president Matthew Fink has welcomed the Bush Administration’s proposals to increase the budget of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). “The Investment Company Institute strongly supports the Bush Administration’s important and necessary proposal to increase the SEC’s fiscal year 2005 budget well beyond the record funding level provided last year,” he says. “The ICI and mutual funds have a long history of strongly supporting increased resources for the SEC. It is more essential than ever that the SEC be provided with the funding and staffing it needs to fulfil its mission of serving the nation’s investors, including the 91.2 million Americans who own mutual funds.”
