ICAP plc has appointed Cathryn Lyall as chief operating officer of Exchange Projects, reporting to Mark Yallop, group chief operating officer.
Lyall will be responsible for global coordination of ICAPs relationships with exchanges of which it is a member and for exchange-related projects. ICAP has significant presence as an executing broker on the worlds largest exchanges and also submits very significant volumes of give up business executed over the counter. Lyall’s role will include liaising with regulators and potential customers as well as overseeing business and technology development. She will begin her new role on 14 April.
Lyall was previously managing director, EMEA, of the Chicago Board of Trade, prior to its acquisition by the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Prior to joining the CBOT she held a number of positions in the Australian trading and derivatives markets.
“Cathryn Lyall brings substantial industry and exchange market experience to this role. She has extensive contacts in the markets and we are delighted to appoint someone of her calibre to expand our business in the exchange-traded markets,” says Yallop.
