New Star Asset Management has hired Ian Lewis from UBS Global Asset Management as Head of UK Institutional Sales and Marketing.
At UBS, Lewis was head of UK consultant relations. New Star describes him as “a key member of the team behind the recent resurgence of UBS’s UK institutional asset management business.”
He has 16 years’ experience in the industry, having spent eleven years as a pension fund investment consultant and five years in investment management business development. Prior to UBS, he worked in the institutional business of Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.
Howard Covington, chief executive of New Star, said: “I am delighted Ian is joining us to develop our UK institutional business. We have an established range of excellent investment capabilities which will now be made available selectively to institutional investors.”
