Trading at the Colombo Stock Exchange was interrupted at 9.30 a.m. on 3rd January 2005, as the change from the open auction session to the regular trading session was incorrectly executed.
The delay was triggered due to an error on the part of the staff manning the system. Trading began at 11.00 a.m., after a delay of one and half hours, Citigroup’s Global Transaction Services reported.
