One of HSBC’s longest servicing securities lending traders has departed, Global Custodian understands.

Grant Mackenzie, head of trading on the agency securities lending desk, left in May, ending his 20-year spell at the bank.

Based in London, Mackenzie covered HSBC’s global equities and bond trading on the agency lending desk.

A spokesperson could not confirm his departure at the time of print.

HSBC’s securities lending team has seen a reshuffle over the past couple of years, following the relocation of its global head of securities lending, Roy Zimmerhansl, from London to Hong Kong in 2015.

The move marked a huge shift in attitude towards the securities lending market in Asia, particularly towards China, while the European market had slowed down.
