HSBC has confirmed its head of its European securities services business, Arjun Bambawale, has left this week, becoming the latest high profile to exit from the bank.

HSBC told Global Custodian he has departed, but could not comment on who would replace him.

Bambawale joined HSBC in 1987, in which he served in a number of executive roles such as regional head of sub-custody and clearing for Europe, head if its payments and cash management business in India, and chief executive of its institutional trust services in Singapore.

His departure marks a blow to HSBC’s Securities Services business following the departure of Kevin Walsh, former head of product management hedge funds, who joined TMF Custom House Fund Services last month as its new chief operating officer for fund services.

Furthermore, last week Chris Barrow, HSBC’s former global head of prime services sales, left the bank to join corporate actions firm Scorpeo.
