HSBC will appoint Wade McDonald as head of Sales and Business Development, Europe, in July, Global Custodian has learned. McDonald most recently was senior vice president and head of U.K. client services at State Street.
At State Street, McDonald was in charge of developing relationships with and managing accounts for insurance companies, banks, asset managers, asset owners and sovereign wealth clients in the U.K. and Africa.
Before joining State Street in 2004, McDonald spent 11 years at J.P. Morgan, where he was business development manager for its Asset Manager Solutions Group. He is also a former chairman of chairman of the International Securities Association for Institutional Trade Communication (ISITC).
At HSBC, McDonald will report to Arjan Bambawale, head of HSS Europe.
