HSBC Securities Services’ revenues for the first half of 2013 increased to $847 million, from $798 million for the first half of 2012 and $825 million for the latter half.

The bank has attributed this in part to the withdrawal of competitors from overseas markets, highlighting HSBC’s comparative scale and connectivity.

Securities Services revenue accounted for 6.37% of net revenue. Profit before tax was up 10% to $14.1 billion on a reported basis.
