HSBC Securities Services (HSS) has launched transfer agency services in Malaysia, adding to existing trustee, custody (global and sub-custody and clearing), fund accounting and valuation in the country.

HSBC Trustee has been appointed by OSK-UOB Islamic Fund Management Berhad to perform transfer agency services on the managers behalf, the first time a Malaysian fund management company has implemented such an arrangement.

The launch of transfer agency services is a direct response to client demand in the Malaysian market, says On Bee Heong, head of HSS Malaysia. The introduction of this product reinforces our strong commitment to utilize our superior regional presence to provide comprehensive securities and fund services throughout Asia-Pacific.

HSBC Trustee is also supporting the launch of new Malaysian Islamic funds by OSK Group Asset Management.
