HSBC has hired Alexis Vasquez Meissner to head its securities services business in the Americas.

He is tasked to grow its securities services business in the region, where he will be responsible to lead the roll-out of its new sub-custody and clearing capabilities in the U.S. next year.

“As a client-focused business, Alexis’ previous experience in developing and managing strategic relationships will be invaluable and I’m looking forward to working with her as she leads our business across the Americas in its next stage of development,” says Cian Burke, head of HSBC Securities Services.

She joins from BNY Mellon where, over the last 12 years, has held a number of senior roles in the Issuer Services and Global Client Management unit.

The custody bank is currently looking to hire a new head for its European securities services unit, following the departure of Arjun Bambawale who left the position at the end of November.
