HSBC Amanah Malaysia Berhad has officially opened its fourth branch in Shah Alam. After becoming the first locally incorporated foreign bank in Malaysia to be awarded a licence by Bank Negara Malaysia to set up an Islamic banking subsidiary, HSBC Amanah Malaysia has expanded its network to four HSBC Amanah branches and a wide range of Islamic financial services for both retail and commercial customers within the six months since its establishment.
The branch was officiated by Irene Dorner, Chairman of HSBC Amanah Malaysia, and Musa Abdul Malek, Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Amanah Malaysia.
“We recognise the many business opportunities available within this vicinity – both for commercial as well as retail,” says Dorner. “Shah Alam is a well-developed city and with the new branch’s strategic location, there is no better place to make our presence felt.”
“HSBC Amanah Malaysia offers a new concept of Islamic finance to the market, complete with state-of-the-art technology to serve our customers better,” says Abdul Malek. “Our main criterion in doing business is to listen to our valued customers and to provide them with financial solutions that cater to their requirements.”
