Bob Fields, the former Chase luminary who used to run the financial institutions group at Bank of New York has retired (says BNY) or resigned (says Scuttlebutt). BNY says no decision has been made on a successor. The reporting structure of the financial institutions group at BNY was reorganised earlier this year, and now reports into Leslie Godridge, an SEVP in Corporate Banking widely thought to be the choice of Gerald Hassell rather than Tom Perna. Wall Street Kremlinologists are reading this as evidence of a change in the pecking order at BNY.
