Global human resources services firm, Hewitt Associates has formed a joint venture with Human Link (HLC), a Japanese personnel administration firm established by Mitsubishi Corporation, to capitalize on the growing demand for HR outsourcing services in Japan.

The new company, Hewitt HLC, will target multinational enterprises in Japan for human resources services, including personnel, compensation and benefits outsourcing services. Gartner, Inc. estimates the Japanese HR business process outsourcing (BPO) services market to be US$1.63 billion in 2005.

”With an increasing number of companies establishing a presence in Japan, this deal enables us to expand our global outsourcing capabilities to serve them,” said Bryan Doyle, president of Hewitt’s global HR outsourcing business. ”Human Link’s strong experience with administering HR programs in Japan, along with our global consulting and outsourcing capabilities, offers our multinational clients an ideal combination in the Japanese market.” Hewitt HLC, which is based in Tokyo, is already providing services to several of Hewitt’s global outsourcing clients in Japan, including Sun Microsystems.
