Leaders across the globe are making hedge fund regulations one of their core strategies in averting another financial crisis, according to the Financial Times.

Hedge fund managers have tried to avoid sweeping regulatory changes by implementing voluntary codes of conduct. Groups such as the Alternative Investment Management Association have attracted names like Todd Groome, formerly with the International Monetary Fund. Groome and other industry insiders are expected to appeal to politicians and regulators to prevent some of the more stringent disclosure rules being suggested.
