Handelsbanken Asset Management’s unit has been given the assignment of looking after two-thirds of the Seventh National Swedish Pension Fund’s index portfolio for Swedish equity investments.

The Pension Fund has expressed its delight that a Scandinavian bank was able to perform so well in terms of price and professionalism in the face of international competition.

“You have every reason to feel proud that you came out on top, in the face of the tough competition,” says Richard Grttheim, deputy CEO of the Seventh National Pension Fund.

Handelsbanken is one of the leading banks in the Nordic region with total assets of SEK 1,790 billion and profits of SEK 17.2 billion as of 2006.
