The Gretai Securities Markets (GTSM) has amended the Regulations (Paragraph 1 of Article 35) on GTSMlisted stocks and Emerging Market stocks without foreign ownership limits.
Foreign Institutional Investors are now allowed to trade these stocks off-exchange, although these transactions will still be subject to securities transaction tax.
Per verbal confirmation with an officer at GTSM, investors can use the closing price on the off-exchange date to calculate the securities transfer tax (0.3%).
