Goldman Sachs has continued its recent recruitment drive with the appointment of Poya Bozorgi to its equity finance division.

Formerly head of European equity finance at Macquarie Group, Bozorgi will be based in London in his new role.

Prior to his position at Macquarie Group, Bozorgi also spent time at Societe Generale as an equity finance sales trader as well as a near three-year spell at M&G Investments.

The move is the latest in a string of appointments for Goldman Sachs following Kevin Kelly’s appointment as global head of securities lending.

Last week the US investment bank also announced the creation of a global funding and inventory management team.

As part of this, Puneet Malhi and Cyril Goddeeris will become co-heads of equities, global funding and inventory management.

According to an internal memo seen by Global Custodian, the pair will work closely with Massimiliano Ciardi, global head of the synthetic products group and prime services strategy teams.
