Swiss-based Global Macro Investments (GMI) has chosen Imagine Software’s Derivatives.com system for its portfolio and risk management needs.

Mohammad Ahmad, GMIs chief operations and risk officer, says that his firms initial product offeringsan inflation protection fund launched in December 2007 and a discretionary global macro fund to be launched in the next month are both very topical, with portfolios consisting of inflation-linked structures, OTC options, and exchange-traded futures.

“Our success with this product and others we will soon introduce hinges upon superior risk management, scenario analyses, and reporting. Imagines overall capability in that regard was the primary reason we chose them over rival software products,” says Ahmad.

Two other considerations weighed heavily in GMIs decisionfactors that are frequently overlooked in the rush to address immediate business requirements: effective data management and high-quality post-sale business support.

“Because we use Imagines on-demand ASP solution, the burden of managing and maintaining the myriad data components necessary for day-to-day operations is removed. Imagines ASP data management team assures the availability of our real-time price feeds, corporate actions processing, security masters, yield curves, correlations and volatilityto name a few items. The level of vendor support we have received has been very satisfying. Knowing you can depend on your vendors to stand behind you as you build your business is very confidence inspiring,” adds Ahmad.

“Were very excited we had the opportunity to assist GMIs highly experienced managers with their launch. Imagine will be with them every step of the way as they expand their business and introduce new products to their clientele,” says Yvonne Dahl, director of ASP Sales & Marketing for Imagine.
