Global Custodian reveals winners of Leaders in Custody awards 2026 

Standard Chartered, Deutsche Bank, SIX, Eurobank, State Street and BNP Paribas were among the winners of multiple awards at the prestigious event held at The Savoy, London last night.

Global Custodian is delighted to announce the winners of its annual Leaders in Custody awards, held at The Savoy in London last night.  

Standard Chartered, SIX and State Street stood out with three accolades each on the evening, while Deutsche Bank, and Eurobank were among the organisations to pick up multiple awards. BNP Paribas, Mizuho Bank, BNY and JP Morgan also secured honours across the evening’s categories.
 

The event celebrated the outstanding securities services providers, including those which have excelled in Global Custodian’s Agent Bank surveys, alongside our Editors’ Choice, Innovation and Individual honours. 

In our Editors’ Choice segment, State Street took home the coveted Global Custodian of the Year award, while JP Morgan secured Deal of the Year for its work with The California State Treasurer’s Office.  

Citi picked up Asset Servicing Initiative of the Year for its Single Event Processing platform. 

Proxymity was crowned Fintech of the Year, while Zilo picked up the award for Fintech One to Watch and received the Asset Servicing Project – One to Watch accolade for its transfer agency partnership with State Street. 

BBH and SimCorp were handed the award for Asset Servicing Partnership of the Year, while Clearstream was awarded Digital Asset / DLT Initiative of the Year for its tokenised securities platform. 

DTCC’s tokenisation service received Market Infrastructure Project of the Year, while HSBC Orion was recognised for Excellence in Digital Asset Innovation. 

Other winners in the Editors’ Choice segment included FNZ for Technology Vendor Provider of the Year, Komainu for Institutional Digital Asset Custodian of the Year and Broadridge for Securities Finance / Collateral Initiative of the Year through its DLR solution. 

Taskize won Innovation in Post-Trade Operations, while FundGuard picked up the award for Innovation in Investment Accounting Infrastructure. Pirum was recognised for Innovation in Securities Finance Technology, and S&P Global Market Intelligence for Innovation in Custody Operations Technology. Taurus also received recognition for Innovation in Digital Asset Market Infrastructure. 

Standard Chartered was named Agent Bank of the Year for Frontier Markets, Deutsche Bank for Emerging Markets and SIX for Major Markets. BNP Paribas secured the overall Agent Bank of the Year title. 

The other winners across the survey awards included SEB, UBS, HSBC, RBI, Eurobank, Piraeus Bank Securities Services and Santander CACEIS. 

SIX won multiple honours within the Best-in-Class categories for its performance across Account Management and Asset Safety and Risk Management, while Eurobank (Greece) was recognised across Client Service and Asset Safety and Risk Management. BNP Paribas (Hungary) was also recognised for Service Innovation. 

Our individual honours saw Keith Slattery receive the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, while Phil Brown, CEO, Clearstream Banking, was voted Industry Person of the Year. 

Finally, four Industry Legends were recognised: Ben Challice, Fiona Horsewill, Vicky Kyproglou and Bohdana Yefremova.
