Our Legends embody the pinnacle of excellence within the securities services industry. The Hall of Fame is made up of stalwarts often amassing decades of experience in leading from the forefront and driving positive change across the market.
The quartet were inducted during Global Custodian’s Leaders in Custody Asia awards.
Phillip Van Dine
Phillip Van Dine is a financial markets executive with over 20 years of experience, specialising in client coverage, sales, and infrastructure solutions across Asia-Pacific.
Van Dine currently serves as Citi’s APAC head of banks and market infrastructure sales and client coverage – a position he has held for over four years. In this role, Van Dine oversees sales, client management, and marketing teams across key markets including Singapore, Hong Kong, China, and India.
He has played a central role in supporting the firm’s regional strategy and strengthening client engagement across the financial ecosystem.
Van Dine’s career at Citi spans more than 14 years, including a decade as director of intermediaries and market infrastructure. During this time, he held leadership roles in both New York and Hong Kong, where he focused on supporting financial institutions with international expansion efforts in execution, clearing, and custody.
Prior to joining Citi, Van Dine held senior roles at DTCC (formerly Omgeo Asia) as sales director, and at Credit Lyonnais SA, where he led business development in Asia for BlocSec, the firm’s dark pool electronic execution platform.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Texas at Austin.
Rohan Singh
Rohan Singh is a seasoned industry executive with more than 35 years of experience in asset servicing across Asia.
He joined BNY in 2017 as head of asset servicing, Asia-Pacific.
Since then, his role has been expanded to include client coverage across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. During his time, Singh has been instrumental in driving growth and pushing innovation across the custodian’s regional business, overseeing local market expansion and leveraging BNY’s advanced technology platforms.
Singh has brought extensive expertise in the Asia Pacific region to BNY, having previously held senior leadership roles at Northern Trust, where he led operations across South East Asia and Australasia, and oversaw sales for the Asia Pacific region. Prior to that, he was a director at Citibank, leading global custody sales for South Asia. His career began at State Street, where he spent seven years developing a strong foundation in asset servicing.
Throughout his career, Singh has successfully developed and delivered innovative solutions for complex and diverse client needs. He holds a GAICD credential from the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and has a strong background in economics, having graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Wollongong.
Widely respected for his deep industry knowledge and leadership capabilities, Singh has played a key role in expanding the presence and capabilities of global financial institutions across Asian markets.
Sriram Krishnan Sriram Krishnan has spent over 26 years working across India’s banking and financial services sector, including two decades with international banks in senior leadership roles.
Since 2022, he has served as chief business development officer at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) of India. Alongside his role at NSE, he holds director positions at several related entities, including the National Securities Depository, NSE Indices, India International Depository IFSC, India International Bullion Exchange IFSC, and Cogencis Information Services.
Prior to joining NSE, Krishnan spent more than seven years at Deutsche Bank, where he held a range of roles, most recently as managing director and co-head of global transaction banking in India. He previously led the bank’s securities services business in India and served as director.
His earlier roles include leading securities services sales at Citibank India, with a focus on offshore clients investing into the country, and over a decade at HSBC in various senior positions. He began there in 2001 as vice president and head of finance and customer service, before moving into client relationship and business development roles.
Krishnan’s career also includes time at Franklin Templeton India and Stock Holding Corporation of India, where he developed experience across operations, sales, and custody.
He is a chartered accountant (ACA) and cost accountant (ACMA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Jacqueline May Ling Liau
Jacqueline May Ling Liau is currently head of securities services, ASEAN, at HSBC, a position she has held for over two and a half years.
During her impressive career, Liau has accumulated 27 years of experience in the financial services industry.
She has developed a strong understanding of currency and fixed income products, the hedge fund industry, the fixed income and FX prime brokerage business, electronic foreign exchange, securities financing and securities services.
Liau has proactively built relationships with external clients, internal trading and sales desks, and other divisions including retail banking, commercial banking, global trade and finance, payments and cash management. She has also been successful in creating and leading her own teams.
Liau has also provided integrated business solutions for a variety of businesses, new products, and types of services. Her experiences range from building new businesses, generating new revenues streams, shaping and delivering large scale infrastructure projects, managing global teams and contributing as a key member of a senior management strategy team.
