Global Custodian magazine today published the results of the 12th annual Hedge Fund Administration Survey. Twenty providers were rated, the highest number in the history of the survey.

Fulcrum Fund Services, Equity Fund Services, Trinity Fund Administration and Circle Partners all debuted in this survey, along with the return of Daiwa Securities Global Asset Services after its two-year absence from the survey.

Five new scoring questions were added to the questionnaire, allowing for a more thorough assessment in the client service and relationship management, fund accounting and valuation, and other sections.

Providers were eligible for 110 Best in Class awards, which returned for a second year in this survey. The awards made their first appearance last year, and were designed to recognize excellence in providing specific services to clients of different sizes, types and locations.

Citco Fund Services topped the league table for global providers, with IFS–A State Street Company and Goldman Sachs Administration Services following closely behind in second and third place, respectively. UBS Fund Services and Olympia Capital Associates rounded out the top five global providers.

Of the local providers, ATC Fund Services came out on top in a second straight year of high marks. Newcomers to the survey ranked highly, with Fulcrum Fund Services in third place and Circle Partners in fifth. AIS Fund Administration (second place) and CACEIS (fourth place) were other top local providers.

BISYS, Citco, Citi, Fortis, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, IFSA State Street Company, Olympia Capital, PFPC and UBS all attained top-rated or commended status in different categories in the survey.
