The Extraordinary General Meeting in DnB Holding ASA has approved the merger between DnB and Gjensidige NOR by a large majority. Shareholders accounting for 99.91 per cent of the shares represented at the General Meeting voted in favour of the merger, while 0.09 per cent voted against.

More importantly, later today the merger is up for approval at the Extraordinary General Meeting of Gjensidige NOR. A majority of two thirds of the meeting needs to be in favour for the merger to go ahead. The Norwegian media says less than three quarters of the shareholders in Gjensidige NOR are expected to participate in the meeting.
