Based on the aggregate statistics, a total volume of € 251.4 billion was traded on German stock exchanges in October, up approximately 3% from September’s €245 billion.
The October total includes €209.2 billion in equities, warrants, and exchange traded funds, as well as €42.2 billion in fixed-income securities. Broken down even further, German stock exchanges generated an equities turnover of €83.2 billion in October – an increase of around 15% on the previous month. German equities accounted for € 78.7 billion of this total, with foreign equities comprising €4.5 billion.
About 98% of the volume traded in German equities in October was posted on Xetra and the floor of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. In foreign equities, 80% of the volume was traded on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and 5.7 million transactions were executed on Xetra in October – a 12% rise from September.
