Mellon Financial Corporation has announced the appointment of George McKay as executive director, Investment Manager Solutions (IMS) International. Reporting to vice chairman and president of IMS Jack Klinck, McKay will have oversight for Mellon IMS businesses internationally, with specific management responsibility for Mellon’s transfer agency, fund accounting and fund manager outsourcing businesses outside North America.

IMS also comprises fund manager software provider Eagle Investment Systems and the performance analytics firm Russell/Mellon. McKay will chair a new IMS Europe Executive Committee, including representation from all IMS businesses in Europe.

McKay has more than 30 years’ experience in the fund management industry. He was previously managing director of JP Morgan Fleming’s pan-Asian mutual fund business (1994 – 2002) and joined the Flemings group in 1975.
