General Electric (GE) is bringing all of its retail finance businesses under one global brand as it prepares to expand its consumer banking business, according to a report in the Financial Times.

The business, to be known as GE Money, will offer personal loans, mortgages and dual-use credit cards direct to consumers.

The re-branding, which has begun already in Germany and Australia, will be extended to 15 other Asian and European countries later this year, and launched in the US next year, says the report.
