GBST, a securities transaction and fund administration software provider, has made two hires for its Americas business, bringing on Timothy Larason as vice president, head of development, as well as Michael Vellecca as vice president, head of account management.
Larason will be based in New York, responsible for helping to grow GBST’s business in the U.S. He will report to Barry Raskin, CEO for the company’s Americas business
Larason has 16 years of experience in financial services technology, most recently serving as director of technology at Barclays Capital, where he oversaw the U.S. Electronic Trading Technology division. He has also held roles in software engineering and project management, building systems for Lehman Brothers and Datek/Ameritrade, as well as founding and selling Al Capital, an algorithmic trading firm.
“We’re embarking on quite a heavy period of product development here in the U.S., and Timothy’s proven ability to manage teams and projects here in the U.S. as well as remotely in Australia and other locations will be key to our success in creating the products and functionality our clients want and need,” says Liz Bevan, GBST’s incumbent CEO in the U.S.
As for Vellecca, he will also be based in New York and report to Raskin. He has 20 years of experience working in various account management, marketing and sales roles, most recently as an independent consultant helping companies with market penetration and sales strategies.
He has also served as vice president – bank/broker-dealer client relationship sales at Broadridge Financial Solutions. He started his career with Depository Trust & Clearing Corportation (DTCC), where he created a global relationship management and implementation team, grew the company’s customer access products, and helped set up the company’s OTC derivatives processing business subsidiary.
