Futures and options currently traded on the Korea Stock Exchange (KSE) are moving to the Korea Futures Exchange (KOFEX) on 1 January 2004. KSE says the current computer system will remain unchanged, as will the personnel and business rules, so there will be minimum inconvenience for market participants. One change is that from the New Year both the KSE and KOFEX will guarantee the settlement of futures and options, while at present only KSE guarantees them. Citigroup in Seoul advises clients trading KSE futures and options through their securities account to open a futures and options account at KOFEX.
