In a surprise development, SIS Group announced yesterday that Fritz Klein, one of the best-known figures in the global securities services industry, will resign his post as Head of Group Services and Strategic Projects at the SIS Group from 31 July this year.
SIS Group said it “deeply regrets his decision,” describing Klein as “an outstanding personality with profound knowledge of the securities industry, [who] has helped to shape the company’s strategic direction.” It adds only that Klein is to “pursue a self-employed activity.”
In June 2000, Klein joined the Executive Board of SIS SegaInterSettle AG as Head of Strategic Projects, and he has led the Group Services and Strategic Projects division of the SIS Group since January 2002.
All business units by Klein will from July report directly to Heinz Haeberli, SIS Group’s CEO.
Klein was not immediately available for comment.
