International financial services provider Fortis announced this week that its board will propose to the shareholders that they re-elect Richard Delbridge and Klaas Westkijk for a three-year term.

The board will also ask shareholders to consider Jan Slechte for a one-year term. By 2007 Slechte will reach the age limit set by the Board. Baron Daniel Janssen will reach the age limit in 2006 and will no longer be eligible for re-election.

The Board will also propose that the shareholders appoint Alos Michielsen as non-executive director for a three-year term.

Janssen joined the Fortis Board of Directors in 1999, after Fortis acquired Gnrale de Banque, where he had been a non-executive director for many years. In a news release, the Board said it would like to express its deep gratitude to Janssen for the significant contribution he has made to the development of Fortis and to the Board’s undertakings.
