Former executive vice president of State Streets Alternative Investment Solutions group Gary Enos has been appointed president of the board at the Expect Miracles Foundation.

Massachusetts-based Expect Miracles Foundation is one of the leading advocates in the fight against cancer within the financial services industry. The foundation supports cancer patient care initiatives nationwide and cancer research at the Belfer Institute for Applied Cancer Science at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. It counts financial services firms in the US and industry luminaries as among its supporters.

Enos retired from State Street in June 2011 after 26 years with the company. In 2002, he initiated State Street’s move into the Alternative Investment Solutions business through the acquisition of IFS and built it into an industry leadership position.

Enos began his career at KPMG Peat Marwick. In 1985, he joined State Street in the Mutual Fund Services business and led the offshore Cayman business. In 1996, he was named managing director of Europe and Canada and was instrumental in leading State Street’s European expansion.

Enos has also served on a number of professional, corporate and executive boards both in the US and abroad.

His demonstrated leadership within the financial industry along with his passion and commitment for philanthropy, will be key assets in growing the Foundation,” said Frank Strauss, founder and chairman of Expect Miracles Foundation.

In the community, Enos is President and Founder of the Bill Blackwell Charitable Foundation, Director for the Boys and Girls Club of Taunton, Founding Director of the Taunton Dynamites and Advisory Board Chair at Coyle and Cassidy High School.
