ALaS, a New York City based consultancy and software provider dedicated to helping financial services firms control post trade risk, has appointed Jim Arvia, previously a vice president of Bank of America in Chicago, as director of global delivery services.
Arvia will be based in Chicago where the company expects to open a second branch office. The other is in London.
A Chicago native and graduate of Illinois State University, Arvia is a 15-year financial services veteran with experience in derivatives, product accounting, settlements and trade processing control. He has also worked for JPMorgan Chase Bank and ABN AMRO.
At ALaS he will be involved in both consulting and software and serve as a liaison between the companys clients and senior partners. A holder of an NASD Series 7 license, Arvia is married with two children.
“Jim has the experience and qualities we need in a point person who can help us establish a presence in the Midwest. His knowledge of accounting practices and software and insight into the Chicago financial community will be a boon to us,” says Wesley Archer, president and CEO, ALaS.
