ABN AMRO Mellon Global Securities Services B.V. has opened an operation in Luxembourg headed by Ravi Thakur as General Manager.
The new branch, whose establishment reflects ABN Amro Mellon’s aspirations in the fund management sector, gives Thakur responsibility for growth in the Luxembourg market. Graduating from the University of Houston, Texas with Honours in Philosophy, Thakur also has a Masters in Political Science from the Political Studies Institute of Toulouse, France. He is a former member of Luxembourg Fund Association (ALFI) committees and securities lending industry bodies.
“The launch of our Luxembourg office and appointment of Ravi Thakur to represent our business interests in the investment funds industry is a major milestone for us,” says Nadine Chakar, Chief Executive of ABN AMRO Mellon. “I believe servicing Luxembourg funds is essential to our continued performance and growth, and I am delighted that we have established ourselves in this important market.”
