SunGard has been named a preferred vendor to the financial services industry in the annual Financial Technology (FinTech) Rankings, published by American Banker and Financial Insights, an IDC company. SunGard has consistently ranked in the top five since the inception of the award in 2003, placing third in this year’s overall rankings. SunGard also placed first this year in the Capital Markets category.

The FinTech 100 is a ranking of the top 100 global application/service providers in financial services. All application categories specific to banking functions are included in this list such as core processing, branch, teller, ATM, credit card, mortgage origination, online banking, collections, cash management, trade finance, treasury services and funds transfer. The ranking of the top vendors is categorized and evaluated based on calendar year revenue, and the percentage of revenues attributed exclusively to financial services. Data is gathered from surveys completed by vendors, as well as original research and market analysis conducted by Financial Insights.

“For more than 25 years, financial services institutions have relied on SunGard to help them get the most value out of their IT investment,” says Brian Robins, SunGard’s chief marketing officer. “SunGard has consistently helped customers drive their business towards continued success by helping them improve their processing efficiencies and manage their risks.
