Finadium has released the second half of our annual survey of asset managers. This report presents data and details on the rationale for traditional asset managers in leveraged investing and their behavior as prime brokerage clients. Topics include how managers view long/short strategies as part of their business model, how they select prime brokers and how they contend with their frequent use of OTC derivatives.
Highlights of this report include:
65% of respondents now manage a long/short portfolio, nearly double the response from 2008.
Leveraged strategies are viewed as an important, but not critical, part of the evolution of the traditional asset management industry.
38% of our survey respondents were conducting transaction cost analysis on their stock loan rates. Most were doing so using comparative prime brokerage data.
