Fimat has been appointed prime broker to the BIA Pacific Macro Fund managed by Andrew Ballingal and Geoffrey Barker of Ballingal Investment Advisors BIA). The fund, launched this month, currently has US9.2 million in assets.
Hong Kong-based BIA as a whole manages over US$30 million in two funds: the BIA Pacific Fund, launched in 2004, and the BIA Pacific Macro Fund.
Andrew Ballingal has worked in Asia Pacific investment since 1982 at Barclays / BZW in London and Tokyo, Sloane Robinson in London, and NatWest, Schroders, TAL and Ruffer in Hong Kong.
Geoffrey Barker has over twenty years’ investment experience in the Asia Pacific markets, most recently as Chief Economist – Asia Pacific and Head of Asia Pacific Research at HSBC, with responsibility for all currency, fixed income and equity research.
