Fidelity International appointed Mark Dowsey to its associate director post in Washington, DC in the product development team. He will report to Richard Parkin, head of DC product development.

“The rapidly evolving UK pension landscape and the potentially significant implications of this for the business mean we need an individual of Mark’s high calibre to help us steer a course through this,” Parkin said.

Dowsey spent five years as a senior technical consultant at Watson Wyatt. He will now be responsible for co-ordinating Fidelity’s response to issues facing the corporate pensions industry both in the UK and across Europe.

Dowsey’s career in pensions began in an administrative position in 1984 at the National Provident Institution. In 1989, Mark joined Godwins, now Aon, and helped provide financial planning and pensions advice to individuals and small employers. He then went on to head up the pensions technical research and development team at Pearl Assurance.
