F&C Investments has hired Julian Lyne as Head of Global Consultants. This senior appointment reflects F&C’s focus on developing its presence in the third-party institutional market place by strengthening its relationships with key global consultancy firms.

Lyne joins F&C from HSBC Investments, where he has worked since 2003, firstly as Head of UK Institutional Business and latterly as Head of Global Consultants Relations. In this previous position he was responsible for managing and developing the relationship between the firm’s business development and investment teams and global consultants. Before joining HSBC, Lyne was responsible for managing consultant relations and DC services at JPMorgan Fleming Asset Management. He started his career at Fidelity Pensions Management where he was a senior manager.

“In 2007 we launched a three-year plan for the business which saw significant investment in people, products and infrastructure. On the back of our strengthened investment capabilities and product range, the focus this year has shifted toward further enhancing our institutional and wholesale distribution capabilities,” says Cristbal Mndez de Vigo, head of Distribution & Business Development, F&C.

“In the institutional market, global consultants play a pivotal role and strengthening relations with all the key players is of paramount importance for F&C as we seek to grow our business. Julian brings years of experience in managing such relationships, is well known, highly regarded and he will play an important role in enabling F&C to achieve our global distribution ambitions,” added Mndez de Vigo.
