In November trading volume in Options and Futures on ME2FF was 1.99 million contracts, 6.3% up on the same month last year. In the first 11 months, 33.71 million contracts were traded, 39% up on the same period last year.
With regard to the trading volume posted up to November, it was particularly heavy in stock futures, with 14.5 contracts traded (+ 55%). Trading in options on the IBEX 35 came in at 4 million contracts (+51%). Stock options trading came in at 9.6 million contracts (+35%). Trading in IBEX 35 Futures was 4.5 million contracts, 13% up on the year. During the period the number of contracts traded by MEFF exceeded by 17% the figure posted for 2004.
