Clearstream has promoted its head of investment fund services, Philippe Seyll, to become the new head of its Global Securities Finance (GSF) business.
Seyell has been with Clearstream since 2005 and prior to his new role served as co-chief executive officer and head of investment funds. He is also a member of the board of Clearstream holding AG and chairman of LuxCSD S.A.
Prior to joining Clearstream, Seyell has also served as MD and head of asset manager services at The Bank of New York, London that he joined in 1996.
He has also held several positions at SWIFT, since starting his career there in 1988 prior to joining Bank Indosuez Luxembourg in 1994 as head of sales and marketing.
The appointment is the second move for Deutsche Boerse this year after it reported that chairman Jeffrey Tessler will head up a new combined derivatives unit.
As Global Custodian reported, the derivatives unit will combine the businesses of Eurex Clearing, International Securities Exchange and Clearstream.
