Euronext Securities Oslo has appointed Kristine Bastøe as its new CEO, effective from 1 March 2022.

Bastøe joined Euronext Securities Oslo in 2017 as a management consultant, before being named as EVP, head of products in June 2019. In the role, Bastøe oversaw several cross-CSD business initiatives and supported the organisational structures across the business.

The appointment comes at a critical time for the organisation, following its recent unification with the three other Euronext CSDs in Portugal, Italy and Denmark. The now pan-European business will operate under the umbrella brand Euronext Securities.

In January, Euronext Securities Oslo was also granted its licence to operate under the CSDR by the Norwegian FSA, taking effect from 1 March 2022.

Moving forward, Bastøe will lead the development of the organisation as it scales up its activities across Europe, working closely with its European counterparts. In a statement, the business said it will be expanding its service offering, converging platforms across markets and improving the overall customer experience over the next three years, with Bastøe at the helm.

In a LinkedIn post, Bastøe said she is truly excited to take on the role of CEO. “I look forward to working closely together with the great and talented colleagues in both Oslo and across Europe to further scale up Euronext Securities – and to continue delivering a stable and efficient financial infrastructure for the Norwegian capital market, to all clients and stakeholders,” she said.

Bastøe will succeed current chief executive, Audun Bø, who will remain at the organisation until 30 June 2022 to ensure a smooth transition.
