Jo Van de Velde, managing director and global head of group strategy, product and innovation at Euroclear has passed away after a battle with illness, the organisation has said.
Van de Velde had been with Euroclear for nearly 30 years and was also a non-executive director of several Euroclear entities including Taskize.
Euroclear said in a statement posted on LinkedIn: “It is with great sadness that we share with you the news that Jo Van de Velde passed away on 13 January 2023, following a courageous battle with illness.
“For almost 30 years Jo was a valued member of the Euroclear family. Throughout this time, he made an immense contribution, most recently through his leadership of the Group Strategy and Product Expansion division and as a Board member of several group entities.
“We will miss Jo’s energy and drive, his vision and great sense of humour that he shared while continuously seeking to bring solutions for the benefit of the company and our clients.
“Our thoughts and support go to his family and friends during these difficult times.”
