Euroclear Achieves Custody Record In 2014

Euroclear achieved a new record for assets under custody during last year, in which €26 trillion of client assets were held. It also reported an all-time high of €633.3 trillion in the value of securities processed.

Euroclear achieved a new record for assets under custody during last year, in which €26 trillion of client assets were held. It also reported an all-time high of €633.3 trillion in the value of securities processed.

Assets under custody grew 7.4% year-on-year, as did the value of securities transactions settled which increased 10.6%.

Furthermore Euroclear’s Collateral Highway mobilized an average of €883.1 billion of collateralized transactions daily, a 12.1% increase.

The results come one week after Clearstream, another international central securities depositary (ICSD), reported their yearly figures in which assets under custody increased 5% to €12.5 trillion.
