The international derivatives exchange Eurex has been offering new trading participants a special incentive program for direct market access since the beginning of the year. The initiative exempts all new participants admitted in 2007 from both the minimum transaction fee and transaction fees of up to Euro 3,000 per month for the first year. New trading participants will also be offered training programs on a free-of-charge basis, up to a certain amount.

In order to attract trading participants from new markets, Eurex will also establish a new telecommunication hub (Access Point) in Dubai, in order to offer a direct high-performance connection to the exchange.

“Eurex’s new incentive program will allow us to make direct market access substantially more attractive for all prospective new trading participants,” says Michael Peters, a Member of the Eurex Executive Board. “The current incentive program will mean that participants are also exempt from transaction fees up to a maximum of Euro 36,000 for the first year of membership. This means that Eurex is the most cost-effective provider for direct trading in derivatives products.”
