Eurex is introducing three new equity options on the MDAX securities Beiersdorf, Hypo Real Estate Holding and Puma on 24 May.

The new equity options will be listed in the German shares segment and will feature the appropriate specifications: one hundred shares will underlie each Hypo Real Estate contract, while ten shares shall underlie each Beiersdorf and Puma contract. The options will be physically settled and they have a maturity of up to one year.

A total of 153 equity options are tradable on Eurex, 114 of which are based on international securities and 39 of which are based on German securities. Last year, around 188 million equity options contracts were traded on Eurex, which corresponds to around 20 per cent of Eurex’s trading volume and makes equity options one of the exchange’s fastest growing products.
