Pension accounting software specialists Euraplan have formed a joint venture with UBSi – the developers of CAGe, a pensions governance solution – to provide UK pension fund trustees, administrators, corporate finance departments, HR managers and external suppliers with management information relevant to their position and responsibility through a secure web-based platform.

CAGe provides a secure online platform, which acts as a document library. It can also hold up-to-date information about scheme investments, finances, demographics, funding and administration performance. CAGe acts not only as a central repository for this information, but also can actively monitor scheme performance against specific benchmarks and constraints, issuing alerts when benchmarks are not met, or constraints are broken. This allows trustees, and other parties with a scheme management responsibility, to manage exceptions while letting ordinary business continue unimpeded.

UBSi has reached an agreement with Euraplan to market CAGe to Euraplan’s client base. These clients will be able to utilise existing investments and accounting systems to automatically feed CAGe via a seamless technology link. “We are delighted that this agreement with UBSi will enable our clients to meet pensions governance requirements, as CAGe compliments the investments and accounting systems our clients have used for many years,” says Paul Lalwan, Chairman of Euraplan.

Alastair McLean, Director of UBSi, added: “This partnership allows us to combine the management information analysis and reporting capabilities of CAGe with key financial and investment data already held within Euraplan systems. This will allow Euraplan’s existing clients easy access to a ready-made governance tool that already encompasses financial data held on Euraplan’s systems.’
