ETF Securities, the exchange-traded commodities specialist, has seen record trading volumes on its ETC platform over the last six weeks. The company, which now offers more than 120 ETCs, said its ETC trade last week alone came to more than $1.4bn (750m), Financial Times reports.
The company said ETFS Short Crude Oil was now the most liquid ETF/ETC on the London Stock Exchange, trading 150 per cent more than the FTSE100, while Physical Gold ETCs were the most highly traded commodity, trading $2.3bn on the LSE in July.
