The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has written to the European Commission of its intention to delay its draft technical standards (TS) for the Central Securities Depositories Regulation (CSDR) to September 2015.

The initial delivery date of the CSDR TS was June 18 2015.

ESMA says it had agreed upon an early legal review process before it delivered the draft technical standards to the EC. The early legal review of the EC’s technical standards is an additional step in the process and as such it will in some cases result in a lengthening in the time period necessary before ESMA can finalise and adopt the draft technical standards, says ESMA.
