eSecLending, LLC, a global securities lending manager, today announced that Susan Peters, formerly Chief Operating Officer of the firm, has been appointed its Chief Executive Officer. Christopher Jaynes, formerly Senior Vice President, has been named Chief Operating Officer.
“Susan and Chris are well-respected senior executives in the securities lending industry and they have made invaluable contributions to eSecLending,” said Scott Powers, chairman of eSecLending and chief executive of Old Mutual (US) Holdings, the parent organization of eSecLending. “I know they will continue to do an outstanding job keeping the firm client focused and technologically advanced as it grows.”
Ms. Peters joined eSecLending in March 2001 as its first chief operating officer and played a key role in directing the firm’s strategy and developing its client service and systems capabilities. Prior to joining eSecLending, Ms. Peters was Director of Credit Suisse First Boston’s agency lending program and, before that, Head of Trading at State Street Global Securities Lending. She also was an attorney at Skadden, Arps, Slade, Meager & Flom in the firm’s New York, Boston and Tokyo offices. Additionally, Ms. Peters served as former Chair of the Legal and Regulatory subcommittees of the Robert Morris Associates’ Executive Committee on Securities Lending, and has authored a number of articles in trade journals on securities-lending legal and accounting practices. Ms. Peters received her Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Common Laws degrees from McGill University.
Mr. Jaynes has been with eSecLending since its formation in 2000, and previously was with UAM Global Securities Lending, the firm’s predecessor. Prior to his appointment as Chief Operating Officer of eSecLending, he was the firm’s Senior Vice President of Client Relations. Mr. Jaynes remains President of UAM Trust Company, an affiliate of eSecLending. Mr. Jaynes received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Vermont and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
